trees for burnley
Betterburnley, Burnley’s pride campaign and Groundwork East Lancashire have teamed up to plant 15 arboretum trees at three locations in Burnley.
The tree planting forms part of the campaign’s work to celebrate Burnley’s green spaces and foster community pride.
The trees were planted on behalf of Friends of Queens Park at Queens Park, Trees for Burnley at Rowley Lake Picnic site and Sure Start at the Chai Centre.
Phill Dewhurst of Groundwork said, ‘Groundwork East Lancashire are continually working towards achieving a cleaner, greener and safer Burnley and we are delighted to be working in partnership with betterburnley and to continue the expansion of the Forest of Burnley’s unique urban arboretum. Tree planting initiatives like these are key to maintaining and enhancing Burnley’s green spaces for everyone to enjoy and help improve places where people live, work and play.’
